Hanwha Q CELLS Consolidates Position as Reliable Partner in PV Industry

International launch of new brand and company name architecture

Launched six months ago under the name Hanwha Q CELLS to reflect its global reach and local presence, the Germany-based provider of innovative and high-quality photovoltaic (PV) products and solutions is a reliable partner for customers around the world. As part of the Korean top-10 business, Hanwha Group, Hanwha Q CELLS is financially secure, putting the company in a unique position within the PV industry.

“Our commitment to solar extends beyond building a successful business. We are dedicated to turning solar into the centerpiece of the Group´s future growth,” said Ki-Joon Hong, the vice chairman and chief executive of Hanwha Chemical, representing Hanwha Group.

Hanwha Q CELLS’ strong market position is further backed by a solid project pipeline. The company’s production facilities for solar cells and modules in Germany and for solar cells in Malaysia are well utilized due to strong demand from several markets like Japan, and the company has a solid downstream pipeline of around 500 MW in the EPC and utility business. Hanwha Q CELLS looks confidently into the future. In the words of CEO Charles Kim, “We are optimistic that our production lines will continue to be well utilized throughout 2013.” A new product generation based on Q.ANTUM technology is particularly expected to generate increased demand worldwide after it is launched in May 2013.

To further position Hanwha Q CELLS as a global company with strong local presence, Hanwha Q CELLS has recently launched its new brand “Q CELLS a Hanwha company” and corporate name architecture by region. Customers will now find Hanwha Q CELLS branches in Germany (HQ), Malaysia, the U.S., Japan, Australia, Korea and Canada.
